Olle Halvars, Slukhålet
Riche Lilla Baren är stolta över att presentera Olle Halvars utställning “Slukhålet”. Olle arbetar med printar i en strikt grafisk tradition som påminner om en gamla träsnitt.
In his work Halvars experiments with handmade and self-taught printmaking techniques to create a simple imagery. It is a mix of cut outs, broad brushstrokes and engravings. The themes have a tendency to always deal with a dark and dystopic take on society today mixed with personal thoughts and everyday issues. A sense that contains both humour and fear.
Tumble around and around in the pitch-black hole,
Down we’re heading, with no chance of gaining control.
Silhouettes whispering in the dark
Trying to figure a way out.
Everyone gathers in small beehive-groups,
Discussing through post-it notes
How to escape this nightmare.
A mad man erupts the brainstorming screaming:
“Embrace the chaos while you can!”
Everyone ignores the intervening:
Just a person with no attention span.
Olle Halvars (b. 1985) is a printmaking artist based in Stockholm, Sweden.
He has a Bachelor’s degree of Arts in Education from Konstfack University College and diplomas from Printmaking College in Stockholm and Östra Grevie in Malmö. He is involved in different art collectives and shares a printmaking studio called Käse.
